We adore you O Christ, and we praise you.
Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
He had not done anything wrong and
there had been no perjury in his mouth. He was insulted and did not retaliate
with insults; when he was tortured he made no threats but he put his trust in
the righteous judge. He was bearing our faults in his own body on the Cross, so
that we might die to our faults and live for holiness; through his wounds you
have been healed. You had gone astray like sheep but now you have come back to
the shepherd and guardian of your souls.
1 Peter 2:22-24
Lord Jesus, sometimes I may plunge into the darkness of depression and anxiety, falling very low. May I never give in to despair, but always trust that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Even when all my strength is gone, like yours when you fell for the third time, let me struggle up and keep trying to go on, one day at a time. Your purpose to redeem the human race and to reveal the Father's love enabled you to carry on. May I never lose sight of the purpose and meaning of my life: to know, love, reverence, praise and serve you.
You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all
your mind, and your neighbours as yourself.
