5th December 2008 became a historical date, when the Benedictine Sisters of Twasana put their decision into action, to establish a convent at Blessed Gérard's Care Centre
by sending Sr. Edith Zulu O.S.B.
She
works as an Early Childhood Educator at
Blessed
Gérard's Children's Home.
Sr. Conradine Mkhize O.S.B. arrived on 29 August 2009 at
Blessed Gérard's Care Centre.
She is a registered professional nurse and works for the
home care
programme of Blessed
Gérard's Hospice.
Sr. Thecla
Gamede O.S.B. joined us at
Blessed Gérard's Care Centre
on 18 May 2010.
She works as a pastoral assistant, visiting the sick in Blessed
Gérard's Hospice, teaching catechism in
Blessed
Gérard's Children's Home and as a sacristan for
Blessed Gérard's
Church.
Blessed Gérard's Convent elected Sr. Thecla as
their superior.

Another Benedictine Sister from Twasana is expected
at Blessed Gérard's Care Centre at a later
stage to complement "Blessed Gérard's
Convent".
